CRS2007 Post02 - Zagor a Zagabria - a comics festival
Crtani romani sou/funny comics show e` un festival di fumetto che si svolge a Zagabria, in Croazia. Che tipo di festival e`? Cominciamo dal nome. Crtani romani e` un vecchio termine in Croato che significa letteralmente "romanzi disegnati" e sou e` una trascrizione scherzosa della parola show inglese. Il termine crtani romani, anche se tradotto in inglese somiglierebbe al serissimo termine graphic novel in realta` era un nome poco serio e colloquiale, tipo, "ah, ma stai leggendo i romanzi disegnati". Il nome piu` ufficiale per i fumetti, in croato, credo sia strip/stripovi ossia le strisce, dal inglese strip. E da qui il nome del festival "Crtani romani sou/Funny comics show". Le ragioni hanno un`altra storia dietro ma siccome non voglio sbagliare non la racconto ancora, devo capirla meglio. Intanto, vi spiego il festival un minimo. E` organizzato in condizioni difficili e ci vuole tanto entusiasmo, ma comunque intanto la 2007 era la edizione dieci e dedicata a Zagor, grazie a 40 anni che esce in Croazia e la uscita del numero 500 in Italia. Anni fa leggevo molto di piu` Zagor, e` questo viaggio mi ha fatto riscoprirlo e cosi` anche le mie radici fumettistiche. Importante e emozionante. Scusate la estrema sintesi ma devo tornare al piu` presto al tavolo da disegno, visto che per me e` un periodo di grande energia, motivazione e disciplina :D (e questo, infatti, rende difficile trovare il tempo per questo blog). Scrivero di piu` su Zagor nel prossimo e altri post ancora. [ENGLISH: Crtani romani sou/funny comics show is a comics festival in Zagabria, Croatia. What kind of a festival is it? Let`s start by explaining the name. Crtani romani is an old name in Croatian that meant comics in a colloquial sense, and sou is just show written in a funny way. The literal explanation of crtani romani is "drawn novels" which is very close to graphic novels, a not at all funny term. But the croatian one is funny instead. The festival name has yet another story behind it, but since I didn`t unserstand it well enough I shall not get into it just yet. The festival itself is a complex thing, organized under difficult conditions with lots of enthusiasm. And so we arrive to the 10th edition - the 2007, dedicated to Zagor because of the 40 years the character is published in Croatia and the 500th issue coming out in Italy. It has been very interesting for me because I read Zagor years back and now to have rediscovered that character and comic has made me rediscover my comic-origins, the roots. And this is very motivating. Which is why I can`t describe it in more detail, as emotional and important an issue it is to me, I`d rather get back to the drawing board as soon as possible! :D]
[HRVATSKI: Ne trebam objasnjavat sto znaci "crtani romani" na hrvatskom, jer ako ovo citate i razumijete onda razumijete i hrvatski jezik. Sta da kazem. Bas mi je drago da sam bila na desetom CRS-u Crtani romani sou/funny comics show, eto. Hvala organizatorima. A i Zagora mi je super otkrit nakon svih ovih godina - roots, covjece. Ali to je druga prica i biti ce ispricana neki drugi put. Bas zato sto me festival toliko inspirirao da se zelim sto prije vratiti na crtaci stol, ali steta bi bilo da vam nisam prenijela moje dojmove sa CRS-a. Ah da, imam i fotke sa konferencije o Zagoru, ali to zasluzuje posebni post.
